The family behind Mareeba's international grocer, halal butcher and café

We started Harvest Lane because Mareeba deserved more than a drive to Cairns every time a family needed sambal, quality meats, pastirma, salami, mortadella, specialty cheeses, or authentic olive oil from Jordan, Syria, Turkey and beyond.

We grew up in this town surrounded by people from different cultures, different generations and different traditions. We knew the families, the stories, and the kitchens that make Mareeba unique.

Mareeba is a town built by harvest. It's a place where cultures have come together through hard work, community and food. The Italian families who planted the coffee. The Albanian and Croatian farming families who helped shape the region's agricultural success. The Malaysian and Indonesian workers who help harvest the mangoes, lychees, avocados and other local fruits. The First Nations peoples who have cared for this land for thousands of years. And the European settlers who helped establish the town and shape the community we know today.

Harvest Lane was created to bring these traditions together under one roof, making it easier for local families to find the ingredients, flavours and products that connect them to their culture, heritage and favourite family recipes.

Today our shelves celebrate the diversity of our community. From authentic Indian groceries and Southeast Asian pantry staples to Middle Eastern ingredients, specialty European foods and an extensive range of herbs, spices, roasted nuts and seeds. We proudly stock freshly made frozen lasagne and tortellini, traditional burek, premium deli meats including pastirma, salami and mortadella, a carefully selected range of specialty cheeses, and an extensive collection of pickled vegetables and preserves inspired by cultures from around the world.

We're also proud to offer the much-loved yoghurt range from Sahara Melbourne, bringing authentic flavours and quality dairy products to local families across the Tablelands.
